One Sunday as I was on the way to church, a man waved me down on the parking lot of Waterfront. As I stopped and rolled down my window, I hesitantly asked what was wrong. He responded that his car battery is dead and needs a jumpstart.
Now at this time and age, we’ve got to be cautious with the people that we deal with so I tried to find a reason not to help. Initially I said, “I don’t have any jumper cable.” but he replied that he has one. Then my next excuse was that I’m running late for church and I could not help. So I went on my way to find a parking spot and headed for church.
As I walked towards church, I could not help but be bothered. I sounded so religious in saying I can’t help because I’m late for church. When in reality isn’t that what we’re supposed to do as a church: HELP PEOPLE!

Isn’t that what we’re supposed to do as a church: HELP PEOPLE!In the end, I shared the story with my dad, who was waiting for me in the lobby, and we went back to the parking lot to help out a person in need. We were late for church but I just had peace in my heart that we did a good thing and was able to give out a helping hand.
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me. Matthew 25:40
